AI can generate a design in seconds. Can it tell you if it's any good?

You've probably seen it happen. Someone types a prompt, and seconds later, a polished interface appears on screen.
And you start wondering: Is learning UX/UI design still worth it?
It's a fair question. AI is changing how digital products are made, and some of the tasks designers once spent hours on can now be completed in minutes.
But look closely at those AI-generated screens.
Who decided what the user actually needs? Why is that button there? Does the navigation make sense? What happens when someone gets confused, makes a mistake, or needs something the interface wasn't designed for?
These questions matter. And answering them takes more than knowing which tool to use.
After more than a decade working in digital product design, I've learned that the most valuable skill a designer can develop is judgment. Knowing what to create, understanding why it works, and recognizing what needs to change.
That's what I want to help you develop.
In this course, we'll start with the fundamentals. You'll explore how the human brain processes visual information, why certain interfaces feel intuitive, and how psychology influences the decisions people make on screen.
Then we'll get practical.
You'll learn Figma, explore typography, color, layout, and interaction design, and work through the same steps designers use to turn an idea into a functioning digital product.
We'll also talk openly about AI. What it's already good at, where it falls short, and how you can use it in your workflow without letting it make every decision for you.
Along the way, you'll work on real design challenges. By the end, you'll have designed a complete mobile app, built an interactive prototype, and created a case study for your portfolio.
You don't need previous experience. You don't need to know how to code or be naturally good at drawing.
You just need curiosity, a computer, and the willingness to question what you see.
The tools will keep changing. That's part of working in design.
The ability to understand people, recognize problems, and make thoughtful design decisions will give you a foundation you can keep building on.
I hope you'll join me.

The demand for digital design skills is growing

Every app, website, and digital service needs an interface people can understand and use. As businesses continue investing in digital products, the need for professionals who can design these experiences is expected to grow.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for web developers and digital designers is projected to grow 7% between 2024 and 2034, faster than the average across all occupations.
Meanwhile, AI is changing how these products are created. Designers can explore ideas, generate layouts, and build prototypes faster than ever. But knowing how to use these tools is only part of the job. Understanding user behavior, identifying usability problems, and making sound design decisions remain essential skills.
Learning Product Design gives you the foundation to work with today's tools while adapting to the ones that come next.
